Lime All Mine.
Okay so here I am on the laptop literary dropping with lime
juice as we speak, why you may ask? Because I have heard a lot of good things
about lemon and hair care and wanting to try it out again, but I didn’t have a
lemon I had a line but I figure it’ll do, and mostly for this experiment I want to see how it’ll handle dandruff. A
lemon juice treatment seemed to work before I don’t really know about lime but
I’m not sure what’s up with dandruff in general.
It seems like I can go for months and be fine but every now
and then it will show up but in general it is much more rare then before my vegan
diet( hmm...). I tried to Google stuff
to figure it out but I’m still not sure way it seem so unpredictable. I’ve wondered if it could have anything to do
with what I’m eating or not eating (nutrition wise) at the time, or maybe I
could narrowing it down to stress. Because this month as been feel of stressful
stuff which may have been affecting me more than I thought, lost my text book,
such a bunch of “bad luck” but it is good luck also because I can learn from
it. For example, as if this month wasn’t bad enough lost my final paper for a
class ( it didn’t save correctly) I put so much work on redoing, but on the upside I think I finally discovered what might have
something to do with my hair issues:-D! Maybe… :-) maybe… :/? Anyway I told myself I will not be discouraged
about starting over and I thought I little hair prep would give me a little
break and relaxation- although I’m actually writing this while
relaxing form writing which kinda defeats the point…. So here are some things I learn about Lemons and
hair care from ehow.com although there are lots of different sources and advice.
First, it is claimed “Washing your hair with a mildly acidic
product such as lemon juice helps exfoliate the scalp to prevent dandruff.
Other home remedies include mixing equal parts lemon juice and water and
soaking a brush in the mixture for one hour.” (Kanobi, Breann N.D) (Which
I probably should have read before putting the undiluted stuff in my hair, my scalp
feels strange-tingly and stuff).
Next it says rubbing
lemon juice on the hair it stimulates blood flow to the scalp
and it helps growth and oil production( I don’t know about the oil part,
but I think just messaging one’s scalp alone is capable of aiding the formal but whatever).
The list of uses goes on I’ve used lemon to wash a stain out of a top
even, I like experimenting using natural
stuff. I had dyed my dark hair lighter with henna leaves which turned out to be
not as temporary in color as I bargained for, but I learned. anyway, was a
started to wash by first removing tangles as my hair is highly textured and wetting
it which was encouraged hair to coiled back on itself would make it worse, when
I started to wash my hair after I noticed there was a lot of product build up. And
I used a lot of Giovanni shampoo more than usual so the thought came to me, although
I had experienced “real” dandruff now before
I wonder how much of this flakey stuff
was a result of me getting carried away with my curly cream pudding last time? We may never know. But you can read some of
what I did below. :-) But I recommend you just Google it yourself there is so
much more I out there, this is just a citation for this post.
Kanobi, Breann (N.D) “Lemon Benefits
for Hair Growth” eHow.com received 4/3/12 from http://www.ehow.com/list_6857532_lemon-benefits-hair-growth.html#ixzz1tpewTh2g
Ps. and yes, I did substitute
a lime just in case you thought that was a typo at the beginning) ;-)

Busy Thinking
Okay this week has definitely been “a thing” , there is so
much I guess could talk about, but I’m not sure each would be long enough to post on, however I should probably asked my
teacher if 500 words per week in blogging meant a 5oo word post( which I could defiantly see happening
when comparing my blog to others, depending
on the topic, such as for hair care blogs can be pretty long, as well as other
blogs about social issues, while fashion
posts tend to be much shorter and picture
heavy which makes sense as I didn’t come to read fashion but see it) , or a
bunch of little posts that should add up to 500 worlds per week. I think maybe
little posts added up to 500 makes a lot of sense considering a learned
information websites should be updating pretty frequently ( too bad I learn it
in the second to last week of class).
Yes, I know, I know this a blog it is supposed to be fun, which a point mixed
in. So I’ll get right on down to that.
This week as been
somewhat busying, I have been working on some projects on like getting
affiliates readying for a website and studying for stuff. While writing or
whatever I might leave the T.V on as well it is… almost a stress relief before
you need stress relief thing. I tend to over think stuff but with some sort of
distraction going on in the background it appears to give my brains something
else to do to makes brain storming the basic parts of projects for smoother and
I can work better and focus without over focusing and getting hooked up on some
little thing. For this, I love the “foreign” channel. I love watching the shows
I can’t understand, maybe without even English subtitles and it is easier to not get too
distracted that way because if I’m reading what they are saying I cannot be
proof reading what I am saying also.
Even when I’m taking
more of a break I like watching the shows where if I can’t tell what is going
on as they say 90% of commutations (or something like) that is non verbal. I think this can really be used to fine tune
my commutation skills because apparently I am bad at self monitoring my own body
language and picking up on cues from others. If I am picking up on cues I maybe
over thinking in and trying to fit it into an interpretation that makes sense(but
I’m learning not everything needs to make sense though) or not try it at
all as if it means nothing, either of which is the base why. I think maybe by
watching shows that you can’t verbally understand may giving you more
appreciation for emotion. Before I was mostly your stuck to the facts person but
to watch this stuff you can’t just stuck to the facts because there really
aren’t any, as there is no way to know what is going on because watching and
inferring what emotions mean(is whatever just happen good or is it bad) so one
has to stretch they rang of thinking which could result in paying more
attention to other’s emotions in everyday life, like of the issue in the beginning
of this post “over thinking it” instead of just
doing what I love-something that should be included in some of all that
thinking and planning.

My Fair Wedding-a Great Lesson for Marketing Students
(Photo Credit “my fair wedding blogs”
I’m a girl and I like random stuff, but one of the more stereotypical
girly things I like are weddings(watching them anyway) and pretty fluffy stuff
and My Fair Wedding by David Tutera
provides just that. There is just something about see a distressed bride
to be go, from bah to tah-da! With the touch of an expert the end result is
awesome, yet the success is just “better”/
altered version of whatever the bride to
be originally wanted, however funky that
may have seemed.
Once while watching this show (although I probably had
something better to do) the thought occurred to me, how many of the “end
results” could this guy actually like, I mean personally? With such a wide variety of people with their own personal tastes and dreams I
am pretty sure as grand as many end results are, not everything is something he
would really choose for himself, if he had his own wedding. To be successful as
a marketing consultant I think it is very important that one separates objectives information, such as sound principles
of a plan/design from the appearances of the project. For example a dress is a
dress but depending on the body type certain styles are more flattering than
others (I found out the hard way if you have the figure of a string bean you
don’t want to wear puffy sleeves unless you don’t mind looking like a jock).
That is pretty solid, however what the dress looks likes in terms of color,
besides the fairly objective clothing styles suggestions, is optional. Your
success as a consultant is not measured by liking everything, as much as to
knowing how to make everything thing work.
What if David decided that every detail had to match his personal taste and
completely ditched everything the brides wanted? He probably wouldn’t be on T.V, have his own business, and might be flipping burgers somewhere, but
even that would fail he didn’t care how customers wanted their burgers cooked. He could be successful in something, if he based
everything on his own taste, but that isn’t as likely.
When I first started marketing as a volunteer, I
confused marketing good advice with my personal taste in design which is easy
to do because visuals are very important in marketing. I found it very easy to push
subjective advice on color and design, along with proven principles and not
even notice which is most important. Instead of saying something like, this ____(fill
in the blank) is the basic principles behind___(whatever) that you should be
concerned about and leaving “trivial” details
in the execution details up to the person I was talking to, as I would give the basics and my own trivial preferences
and insist on it just as much as solid proven marketing concepts, as if how many chocolate chips or raisins
someone wants go in their cookies is as important
as hot the oven is and how long the cookies stay in. Now I see the silliness,
and can focus on what I should be focused on, the objectives needed to make what
the boss/client or whoever wants happen well, not my personal taste (which is
fine to share at times and has its place) and how to get it the plan. That is a
big lesson in marketing, so as it turns out watching wedding planning isn't a
waste of time after all.

I Forgot the Why, How Could I?
I told you about the name, but I forgot
to mention in my first blog post why I am writing this
blog. It is actually part of an assignment for a E-marketing class that I probably
never would have needed up doing. I actually started out as a Business
Management Major as postsecondary student at the associate level. I was
introduced to business through an assignment learning about different careers
at my high and I knew for a fact, I
didn’t want to go into to medical field like some of my family so I picked
business(no blood, guts, and other
nastiness). I am so grateful that a marketing
class was a requirement for Business Management Program because it was love at
first textbook. What impressed me about marketing in that class was the thought that nonprofits,
could use this information, little did I know I would end up working for
nonprofit while in school which would fueled
my interest to seeking more knowledge to strengthen my position as a reliable source of information and my confidence
to actually put that knowledge to use, because while I was yet learning, I met the director of a nonprofit call JewishHeritage(which does a lot of things,
cooking classes, Hebrew classes DVDs and so on).
I told him what I was studying, in conversation,
not expecting work at that time, in fact I think I was still on the fence about
adding Marketing to me degrees and told him I was thinking about it because it
is “fun” Anyway, he passed a few ideas to me for input, one of which was about
a name for a book. Because of that required marketing class, I knew it was very
important to reflect on every detail of one’s
product plan, and was able to explain it isn’t just a matter of the name sounding good-marketing
is a bit complicated than that. Brand loyalty comes from attaching the name to
the product and you must ask what you want people to think of when they hear
the name (fun, adventure, serious etc…) because the product position has to be
clear in the audience’s mind to promote it accordingly, never mind needing to
know who those are in the first place.
Afterward,
I end up doing a lot of “random” stuff, (as could be expected in a small
nonprofit), giving marketing advice, copy writing, etc… here and there and
figured even things you wouldn’t think as obviously marketing, such as being an
online teacher’s assistant, marketing can play a role, because you should aim
to build relationships with students so they want to come back and think well
of the program. For planning a new online magazine you can and should use
marketing skills could to make ensure that the content matches the audiences’
interests and affiliate partners match the brand’s image as well. I wanted to
learn more about marketing, which is why I’m in Social Media Marketing class, for
which I made this blog, and may share more of what I figure out about marketing
as I go along.

Well...Welcome Folks :~)
WOW …What on earth am I doing?…Never once earth, in a
million years would I have thought of making my own blog (well maybe at some
point but I doubt it) although I loved looking at blogs, but then again never
on earth would I have thought I’d be doing most of what I am doing now, even though
I kinda dreamed of some of it, the way stuff happened- I never had thought of.
Really, life just didn’t happen as I would have expected in general-which isn’t
necessarily bad pre say, but if you are at all anywhere near the being a
analytical type( well even if not)-I think at some point probably everyone
would like life to make a little more sense than it does. Still as some say, “God
works in mysterious ways”, and regardless you believe in a God or not I think one
up there is messing with me, and I like it. Some may call it odd luck or fate, and you have
every right to but, my life at times is just, not as predictable as would have
expected it, even if I had the basic direction in mind, even that doesn’t seem
to go how I expect either-yet it works out.
Okay so why the name, or the Random part of it at least? Well
because something’s seem random, yet purposeful and that is how my life it
seems. How on earth did a Bajan girl-Canadian by birth, (born in Toronto/Canada,)
with citizenship in Barbados (and Canada yes it is possible to have two of citizenships)
raised in Michigan, but living in Ohio end up working at a Jewish
organization headquarter in FL an online teacher for the Jewish heritage
lessons, when she couldn’t have told you what matzo was to save her life which
a few years before? How on earth did I
get hired for an online magazine in the past few weeks without ever leaving my
house (seriously since, it’s not like
English class was ever the love of my life, far from it actually)? How on earth did I end up in America at all for
that matter? Yes, I’d call that (and my writing style for this post know that I
think of it) “random” but ordered chaos.
So, yes there is a
lot of stuff going on but back the naming of the blog, as for the Goy part that is just a
Jewish nickname for a foreigner or non-
Jew. It’s not a bad name or anything as some may think, it’s just that you are foreign,
so that’s what’s up with that. As for the reason I picked this name, well
actually it kinda just came to me one day “randomly” but for person as me whose
life seems cluttered with seemly random events some positive some…not so much
which ended up working out in the long run I think the name of that the blog
“The Random Goy Girl” is a great name for the someone that kind of fell into a
marketing role for a Jewish organization that is foreign to her. This blog is
going to be somewhat random I guess and some marketing perhaps, we’ll see what
happens. ;-)
